 Dolly and Ted
Valerie Fleet from Sandbach, who teaches year four pupils at a local school has written her first book, "Dolly and Ted", based on her childhood experiences working on a busy lock with her uncle Ted.
It follows the adventures of 10-year-old Dolly, a pet name given to Mrs Fleet by her lock keeper uncle, and her summers spent with him and her aunt Sal working a lock at the junction of the River Weaver and the MSC.
The book is written from the perspective of the adult Dolly recalling her summers at the lock as a child, and focuses on her relationship with her uncle and how it changed over the years until he died in 1972.http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dolly-Ted-Valer ... 259&sr=8-1
